Welcome to the website of Lubbock's Troop 505

We are glad you're here!

Scouting can be a terrific influence on a young man's life.  With personal fitness, character development and citizenship training as it's core aims, scouting provides the structure and the environment to help young men prepare for life.  The methods we use to achieve these aims are found in our Ideals, Patrols, Outdoor Program, Advancement, Association with Adults, Personal Growth, Leadership Development, and our Uniform.

If you are looking for a troop home or would just like to learn more about scouting, we would be happy to see you visit during one of our troop meetings.

We meet Monday evenings at 7pm in the Family Ministry Center of LakeRidge United Methodist Church located on 83rd street between Toledo and Salem in the great city of Lubbock, Texas.

We hope to see you return for updates as we build and add new information to our  website.

Troop Update 12-7-09

Posted on Dec 8 2009 - 4:23pm

We reviewed the emergency situation that some of the Scouts and two leaders were involved in last Saturday towards the end of hanging Scouting for Food door hangers. The training and preparation in First Aid and CPR that we have done was very needed and evident Saturday. While we do not know how the lady is doing, we did our best to help her until EMS arrived. Everyone involved did great in, what for most, was their first experience with a medical emergency. Never doubt that the skills you learn in Scouting may someday save a life.

Troop Update 11-16-2009

Rap, Rock and Roll (WHO is Pete Townsend?), a great presentation/discussion on internet safety, and games of freeze tag (in which many were freezing) and Duck-Duck Goose and basketball inside for those who could not go outside, made for another good meeting. I know I harp on preparation, but when you boys have things planned and prepared, the meetings are funner and flow better.
