Welcome to the website of Lubbock's Troop 505

We are glad you're here!

Scouting can be a terrific influence on a young man's life.  With personal fitness, character development and citizenship training as it's core aims, scouting provides the structure and the environment to help young men prepare for life.  The methods we use to achieve these aims are found in our Ideals, Patrols, Outdoor Program, Advancement, Association with Adults, Personal Growth, Leadership Development, and our Uniform.

If you are looking for a troop home or would just like to learn more about scouting, we would be happy to see you visit during one of our troop meetings.

We meet Monday evenings at 7pm in the Family Ministry Center of LakeRidge United Methodist Church located on 83rd street between Toledo and Salem in the great city of Lubbock, Texas.

We hope to see you return for updates as we build and add new information to our  website.

Shake down, for at least some of the summer campers, was Monday night. If you did not bring your gear, please check the equipment list on last week's update. After skills, Patrols began talking about plans for next year, followed by games of wall ball and basketfootball (basketball played with a football). At least one of the Eagles also worked on his physical requirements for Tenderfoot.

Youth safety is the No. 1 concern of the BSA.

To increase awareness of this societal problem and to create even greater barriers to abuse than already exist today in Scouting, the Boy Scouts of America is implementing several important changes to further enhance its Youth Protection policies.
