Welcome to the new website of Lubbock's Troop 505

We are glad you're here!

Scouting can be a terrific influence on a young man's life.  With personal fitness, character development and citizenship training as it's core aims, scouting provides the structure and the environment to help young men prepare for life.  The methods we use to achieve these aims are found in our Ideals, Patrols, Outdoor Program, Advancement, Association with Adults, Personal Growth, Leadership Development, and our Uniform.

If you are looking for a troop home or would just like to learn more about scouting, we would be happy to see you visit during one of our troop meetings.

We meet Monday evenings at 7pm in the Family Ministry Center of LakeRidge United Methodist Church located on 83rd street between Toledo and Salem in the great city of Lubbock, Texas.

We hope to see you return for updates as we build and add new information to our new website.

HONOR TROOP! The eight boys and three adult leaders who went to BTSR Summer Camp were selected by the BTSR staff as the Honor Troop of the week. Our spirit, willingness to work together, and willingness to share our skills with others were noticed and appreciated. I am honored to have been a part of this group that represented Troop 505 at BTSR. The group of boys completed 35 merit badges, with a few others close to being finished; the adults completed several adult leadership training classes to improve their skills, the Monje trio each completed the BSA Mile Swim, Ms. Monje completed the BTSR Scoutmaster Merit Badge requirements, Mr. Mann won the Dutch Oven Cobbler Cook Off, and the troop earned both the BTSR Pondweed Award and the Ft. Davis National Trails Award during the week. Great week, great camp, great group.

GREAT CAMPOUT AT THE TEXAS AIR MUSEUM! Those who went worked well together all weekend and represented Troop 505 and BSA well in the eyes of the Air Museum staff, FAA, and myself. Ice fight was a personal highlight.
